Thundermother – Dirty & Divine

Thundermother – Dirty & Divine

Releasedate: 07-02-2025
Label: AFM Records

The Swedish “femmes métal” Thundermother back on track renewed. The sixth record “Dirty & Divine” came out with new members on board, so vocals replaced by Linnéa Vikström and drums by Joan Massing.

The current 30-minutes record packed with 10 tracks. That’s good enough for binge-listening. I hesitate to pick the key tracks; all the material is absolutely mature, but no blockbusters this time.

Here the list of tracks for paying some attention.  First, “Dead Or Alive”, perhaps the most worth composition, combined rock ballad with slight western notes. The track also unboxed all the potential of new singer’s mastery. Second, “Take The Power”, that fits for Girlschool legacy and aims downpouring almost shooting riffs. In “Can You Feel It” you can probably feel touch of another branch of hard rock, likewise, AC/DC. Changing the course and continuing feels theme, “Feeling Alright” unzips punk or even alternative rock. Moreover, raw and whirring “Speaking of the Devil” and “I Left My License in the Future” have special aftertaste: no impressive during listening, they can stuck in head with sticky refrains. In contrary with other tracks, “Bright eyes” sounds more hard and heavy.

Besides changed line-up, the band also transformed the sound. As for me, the band became monotypic; the wide palette of hard rock, as they showed some time ago, faded. However, if you havent’t heard Thundermother before, you definitely have a chance to greet the solid band.
